Today's blog shares an article from Laramie County Master Gardener (LCMG) Barb Gorges.
A little information about our guest author: Barb Gorges started writing the Garden Gossip column freelance for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, in February 2012, and she is a published author of the book, "Cheyenne Garden Gossip: Locals Share Secrets for High Plains Gardening Success." She routinely interviews local gardening experts and shares what she's learned on her Cheyenne Garden Gossip Website. We are extremely fortunate to have her as part of our LCMG Mini-Garden Tours & Trips Committee.
This committee is actively recruiting garden lovers for an October 4-9, 2026, trip to view Philadelphia-area gardens with Road Scholar Tours (a non-profit company specializing in guided educational travel). Barb's recent blog article (below) provides information on this tour & contact information to add your name to our travel roster.
Trip Dates: October 4-9, 2026 (6 days, 5 nights)
Educational Tour with Road Scholar Tours--tour name: "Topiaries, Pleasure Gardens, & Botanical Gems in Philadelphia & Beyond"
Signups are open to the public, 21 years & older
8 expert-led field trips & 3 lectures (includes Longwood Gardens, Chanticleer,
Activity Level: "Keep the Pace" -- walking & standing up to 2 hours
Cost: $2,500 per person (double occupancy) or $3,250 per person (single occupancy)
Includes lodging, tour bus transportation, & 11 meals (5 breakfast, 3 lunch, 3 dinner)
Your airfare and transportation to the hotel are an additional cost
If you are interested in learning more, Barb will provide a brief presentation following our June Monthly Membership Meeting on June 19, 2025 (Thursday) at the Cheyenne Regional Airport, room 109. Membership meetings are open to the public. The membership meeting starts at 6:30 pm with her presentation likely occurring at 7:00 pm.
